HGP is the regional hub that drives the local implementation of this national theory of change to build long-term, high-impact direct service activities that span the formative first nine years of students’ academic careers. HGP:

  1. STARTS new program sites that offer much-needed academic support.
    1. An award-winning tuition-free academic and enrichment summer program for students who experience educational inequities hosted for six weeks (full days, Monday through Friday) on the resource-rich campuses of independent schools.
    2. School-year programs from September to May that range from afterschool programming 1-3 times a week –including literacy support, enrichment, and counseling– and/or quarterly Saturday sessions with activities, counseling, service opportunities, academic enrichment, and family engagement.
    3. HGP provides start-up funding to support program sustainability, quality, and direct service operations including meals, swimming, academics, field trips, staffing, and enrichment activities.
  2. SUPPORTS program sites with coaching, funding, facilitation, training and curricular tools so they are able to operate evidence-based, culturally competent programs. HGP provides ongoing professional development support to site Executive Directors and staff including
      1. on-boarding new leaders
      2. a monthly forum for site leadership to brainstorm and problem solve
      3. regional training for sites on specific topics
      4. access to a robust resource library
      5. curriculum guides
    1. HGP hosts several events throughout the year including 
      1. Regional Professional Development Day
      2. Regional Swim Meet 
      3. Regional Holiday Event 

3. STRENGTHENS the HGP network with robust, multifaceted evaluation.
